EMPLOYMENT LINKS PROJECT

                                                                                                       

This project is offered on behalf of Alberta Employment and Immigration.  The criteria for admission, services and guidelines are established by AEI.
 
The goal of this project is to assist individuals with disabilities to connect with employers to find and retain employment that matches their skills and abilities.
 
Employment Links Project
  • Is tailored to job seekers who have typically maintained a period of past employment and are looking to re-enter the workforce
  • Provides an individualized job search plan developed to fit within the program time frame using a team approach.

Eligible Individuals
  • Have attended a minimum of 5 visits to the Links Centre (First Level Services) and meet eligibility requirements determined by project staff for the Employment Links Project
  • Have a realistic employment goal that matches skills and abilities
  • Are unemployed or working less than 15 hours per week
  • Are seeking full or part time work (a minimum or 15 hours per week)
  • Have well managed life issues: stable health, housing, family life and a regular income source
  • Are READY, WILLING, and ABLE to find and maintain employment

Unique Features 
  • Participation in pre-employment workshops prior to job search and marketing
  • Access Exposure Courses such as WHIMS and First Aid
  • Individualized job search process
  • Individuals with little or no employment experience can access, Employer Workplace Training though training subsidy (Eligibility determined by project staff)
  • Four months of program suports to secure employment
  • total of six months Follow-Up ensures Client and Employers have support when needed
